Industrial fan bearings operate at high speed and relatively light radial load. Temperature extremes, contamination and difficult maintenance locations make bearing configuration a critical reliability factor.

For fan shafts, the solution may combine spherical roller bearings, cylindrical roller bearings or CARB toroidal roller bearings. The fixed and floating bearing arrangement must accommodate thermal expansion, shaft misalignment and housing fit.

Correct clearance, sealing, lubrication and housing selection can extend relubrication intervals, reduce vibration and energy consumption, and improve uptime. Oil-bath or circulating-oil lubrication is recommended for high-temperature, high-speed duty.
